Hi Cathy, my partner informs me that the flower is called ‘Rose of sharon.’ It’s part of the Hypericum family. He’s a keen gardener and knew what it was as soon as I showed him the photos. I hope that helps.

We had a Rose of Sharon at a previous house but I didn’t recognise this one.
