I’m delighted to be hosting Sunday Stills for Terry Webster Schrandt during August while she takes a blogging break. Hugh from Hugh’s Views & News is covering the September dates so do check in on his blog.
The theme this week is all about what you can see from your window, whether it’s at home or when you were away.
In early February this year we met friends for a weekend in a cottage in Herefordshire. The kitchen diner had a good views of the sunrise, and even though this particular morning it was a cloudy one, it was still impressive.

As it became lighter, I noticed we had a visitor…

and it soon became obvious he was searching for breakfast.

Then…

and off he goes again.

Aha! Jackpot. That’s more like it.

What a fun visitor to have and he was very busy! We have kangaroos in the paddock and they are always interesting! Thanks for hosting again this week Cathy. Here’s my link. https://debs-world.com/2020/08/23/whats-the-view-like-from-your-window/

How gorgeous. We don’t have those in Australia, where I’m from.. I took your challenge literally. I noticed the weather changing and quickly just snapped these. https://atpatho.com/?p=1306

What great views, Cathy. Sunrises are my favourite, especially in the winter months. It doesn’t matter which window you look out of; you’ll always have a different view. Isn’t that a lovely thought? It’s also taught me to spend more time looking out of windows rather than looking into a screen.

Nice photos of the squirrel. They’re so entertaining and cute. Here’s my somewhat less cute response: https://grahamsisland.com/2020/08/23/wild-pig-with-a-mango/

It was entertaining. What you see through your window is so different from us in the UK. Great post again, Graham.

Thanks Cathy. Right now all we see is a smoky haze from all the wildfires in Northern California.

Oh, I didn’t realise you were in the area Marsha. It’s terrible and very sad 😢

Smoke covers most of the state right now. There’s nowhere to get away from it. The folks in northern California who are in the midst of it have a much worse time. I read yesterday that in one of the fires 302, 388 acres burned and it was only 15% contained, 4 dead, 4 injured and 480 structures destroyed. I can’t imagine what the people and the firefighters are going through. The smoke is nothing in comparison.

So we should switch to a less depressing subject, like your adorable squirrel, and pray for those who are in terrible situations. Is this the first time you’ve hosted a challenge? How’s it going?

Yes indeed, my thoughts are with them. It is the first time and it’s going pretty well. I only set my photo blog up earlier this year, it was taking over the book blog slightly 😉

Lovely views, Cathy! Your squirrel is very entertaining! Like Marsha mentioned, we, too, are dealing with the smoke and ash from nearby wildfires. Everything out our windows lately has an eerie orange glow and smoke smudges any distance viewing. Thank you for hosting Sunday Stills these last four weeks! I am eternally grateful and I hope you had a fun time! I’ve got my themes ready for the 2nd half of September and I am anxious to share my short trip to Mammoth Lakes. Glad to see several regulars are still linking for SS! Have a wonderful week!

It’s awful about the fires, Terri.
I still have one more week to go for Sunday Stills, I’m enjoying it and am looking forward to Hugh’s choices for the first two in September. Enjoy the rest of your break.

Hello.
Your views are great. I see at this moment new buildings are being built! Well, anyway it is interesting to watch how they build nowadays.
Have a good day!
