#SundayStills ~ Winter Snow #Scenery #Dogs #Snow

I’m delighted to be hosting Sunday Stills for Terry Webster Schrandt during August while she takes a blogging break. This is my last week, I’ve enjoyed it very much and many thanks to all who’ve taken part. Hugh from Hugh’s Views & News is covering the first two September dates so do check in on his blog next week.

This week’s theme is Winter. We don’t get many, if any, decent snowfalls in this corner of the UK so I’m going back to 2009 when we lived in Oxfordshire…and in the days of the Blackberry, before I had a camera.

This village is surrounded by fields which was perfect for dog walking, and Jenna loved it.

The snow became churned up a little where other dog walkers have been but stayed white.

Everywhere looks pretty, blanketed in white.

Puppy Finn’s first exprience of snow. He doesn’t quite know what to make of it…

Sunday Stills Photo Challenge Reminders

  • Please create a new post for the theme.

  • Title your post a little differently than mine.

  • Don’t forget to create a pingback to this post so that other participants can read your post. I also recommend adding your post’s URL into the comments.

  • Entries for this theme can be shared all week. Use hashtag #SundayStills for sharing on social media.

  1. Hello.

Just soon entering towards autumn and winter, your photos were refreshing. They show real winter with snow. I have to say that I love them very much. Same places presented in different season show, how beautiful our world can be. Thank you.

    Happy Sunday!

  2. How strange that this week’s theme is winter and I’ve just witnessed the Christmas cards in the shops, Cathy. Mind you; I don’t mind in the least. I enjoy British winters, although I would like to see more snow than we’ve recently had. Our last significant snowfall was in December 2017, two weeks before Christmas. Unfortunately, it didn’t last until Christmas.
All your photos in this post would make great Christmas cards.

    1. Christmas in the shops seems to be getting earlier every year! It would be lovely to have a white Christmas, I can’t remember the last one. The snow in the photos arrived in February if I remember rightly…it was a while ago though 😉 Thanks very much, Hugh.

  3. Beautiful snow scenes Cathy and so lovely to see Finn as a pup! Enjoy the rest of your day and please give Finn a big pat from us all 🤗💖🐕 xxx

  4. Hello Cathy stunning photography and your winter scenes are just beautiful. I live on the Gold Coast in Australia so my Winter is sunny and mild with clear skies. T his is the first time I’ve joined Sunday Stills. Debbie Harris is a friend of mine and I finally took the plunge although I am definitely not a photographer sadly.

    1. Hi Sue, thank you very much for your kind words. So sorry I’m late replying, your comment had gone into spam for some reason. I hope you’ll continue with Sunday Stills, it’s good fun. I don’t consider myself a good photographer when I see some of the images that are around but I enjoy getting out and about with my camera and that’s all that matters 🙂

  5. Snow is always a beautiful backdrop for photos, as well as the subject of photos. These are gorgeous. I love snow, but the past few years it has just been too warm for our beautiful snows.

  6. Your snow scenes are beautiful, Cathy! With this ridiculous heat and smoke, I can live in cool virtual temps enjoying your winter scenes. No snow here in my part of Northern California, too low, but the Sierra Nevadas are within 45 minutes’ drive time where snow will fall and stick. Once again, thank you so much for keeping SS going while on my break! I’ve planned some themes and kind of a new monthly feature on Sundays Stills.
