Lisa Coleman’s bird weekly challenge this week features favourite birds.
After attending a Norfolk Wildlife photography day a few years ago, the elusive barn owl is now one of my favourite birds. I’ve only ever seen one in the wild a couple of times in the distance so it was amazing to be so close, especially seeing it in flight.

Another bird I enjoy seeing is the thrush. I haven’t caught sight of one for years and was quite excited when I spotted this one in the garden the other day.

And not forgetting my favourite little bird, the robin

So much love ❤️

I love owls, and we are lucky to have fields and barns alongside where we live. Often hear the owls and have occasionally glimpsed them but never have a camera to hand! Love these photo’s xx

Thanks, Yvonne. The only time I saw a barn owl was when we had a farm with a barn at the back of where we lived a few years ago. Owls are amazing xx

I love owls too. And I saw the first thrush I’d seen for quite a while only this morning – coincidence?!

It’s odd they’ve been ‘missing’ for so long but I’m glad they’re back 🙂

Beautiful images Cathy, I love owls and it’s a real treat to see them so close 💚 The robin and thrush look so sweet too and so lovely to see them visit your garden. Wishing you all a wonderful Wednesday 🤗💖🐕 xxx

These are lovely little birds. And the ELUSIVE Barn Owl. I still haven’t seen one in the wild and they are all over the US. It’s been an unusual start to the year so I have hope that I will see one at some point. 🙂

Thanks, Lisa 🙂 It’s a matter of luck with barn owls, I think…or endless patience.

Probably a little of both, I would guess. We have looked in areas they have reported them, but never gotten a glimpse. 🙂

Stunning birds, Cathy! The owls are spectacular! I hope when we get to our rural area, the birds will be in abundance. We heard owls back in Sacramento but I never saw them.

Thanks so much, Terri 🙂 I’m hoping that too when we move. It’s too urban where we are now.
