Lisa Coleman’s Bird Weekly photography challenge this week is birds common to your area.
The header photo is a starling and one of the juveniles.
Since we moved we’ve been visited numerous times by a great spotted woodpecker who hogs the fat balls.

Lots of noisy crows…
and a scary looking jackdaw

One of the juvenile blackbirds

and the resident buzzard

and not forgetting the robin and magpie

I love that opening shot – so perfectly framed! The magpie looks good among the blossoms and how lovely to have a resident buzzard!

Thank you 🙂 It’s interesting and was a surprise to me that the buzzard is sometimes chased off by the crows.

Amazing shots of your bevy of birds, Cathy! Such a nice variety. Any birds we see are hiding from the ridiculous heat these days. So cool to see your bird families doing their thing.

We’re having a typical British summer with very unreliable weather, so the birds are still out and about.
